In appreciation she has received letters from all three Presidents, which is proudly displayed on her wall.

Her work comes from life experiences and observing the ever changing world around her. She is a spiritual person, believing in the brotherhood of all mankind. "We are the caretakers of the earth," she says and it is our responsibility to put aside the need for violence and enjoy the unity between man, mankind and the world around us.

To her the greatest poem on earth is life itself. If, through her writings she reach out to the world and let them feel and see the emotions of her writings, then as Barbara says,' I WILL HAVE LIVED MY LIFE AS A TRUE POET..'
